Anthony Johnson
Height: 195cm / Blood Type: O / Zodiac: Pisces / Lefty Drummer

Anthony Johnson grew up in New York City and studied percussion at LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. While in high school he played with the popular NYC band the A-Kings, performing in numerous local venues including the famous CBGB's. After studying for one semester with legendary jazz great Ron Carter at City College, Anthony went on to earn his Bachelors of Arts degree in Jazz Performance at New York University (NYU).

After playing with various bands, Anthony joined forces with three musicians from
the Bronx, to form the now well-known funk-rock-band, 24-7 Spyz.
Together, they made three records, including Harder Than You,
which received critical acclaim. The group's unique sound combining Funk, Heavy Metal, Punk, Rap and Reggae led them to tour the world playing in Europe, as well as throughout the U.S. The youngest member of the band,
this experience afforded Anthony the opportunity to share the stage with Lenny Kravitz, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, Alice Cooper, Nirvana, Living Colour, Fishbone, Parliament Funkadelic, the Ramones, Alice in Chains, Bo Diddley, P.I.L., and others.
Also, 24-7 Spyz received the "Best Hard Rock Band" award at the New York City Music Awards.

After playing with Spyz, Anthony went on to play and record with Middle Man and tour Europe.
As the drummer for Middle Man, Anthony had  the opportunity to open up for Sting at the Paramount (Felt Forum-NYC).

Eventually, Anthony turned his talents to the theatre stage where he performed as the lead in STOMP, the popular off-Broadway hit show.
His incredible sense of rhythm, movement ability, and charismatic interplay with the audience led him to receive positive reviews and to perform for hundreds of audiences throughout the US and Europe.

STOMP also afforded Anthony the opportunity to act, make movies (the HBO film STOMP Out Loud), and perform on television (including performing on David Letterman with Savion Glover; the NBC Today Show; and MTV Beach House).

While the lead in STOMP, Anthony was also recruited to be the drummer for the popular Japanese pop star BONNIE PINK. As BONNIE PINK's drummer, he lived in and toured Japan, recorded albums, and co-produced the maxi single, Take Me In. This experience also affirmed for him the universal language of music which can communicate across differences and culture, and bring people together.

Today Anthony lives in NYC playing, producing, writing, and performing with various artists, and pursuing his interests in rhythm, performance, music, and theatre.
